But for most of those games, he had minimal time to prepare the team.
However, with far more resources being made available for the Serbian-born coach, Brown is confident the lads will improve as a team.
"We saw the individual brilliance. It's about getting them (and) spending time with them and instilling in them. and getting in personally into the players.
"We have seen them play well as a unit. and I have no doubt that spending time together they can improve tremendously. ," said the veteran coach.
In his mind, said Brown - who represented Jamaica between 1970 and 1980 - "time spent will iron out" the deficiencies obvious in their team play. He pointed to the individual efforts of livewire Jermaine Johnson, the speedy Luton Shelton, Ricardo Fuller's skilfullness, and the craftiness of Jermaine Hue, as stocks that the country can build on for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
But although those qualities were evident on Wednesday night against the Peruvians, the Reggae Boyz were far from smooth in transition.
"I'll agree. that as a unit we probably didn't flow as we should, but only time will do that. Time spent on the field will iron that out. It's really not a difficult thing to iron out," Brown stressed.
And after giving some 35 years of service to football, Brown is of the opinion that on the whole, football in Jamaica has made significant strides and that the nation possesses the qualities to make it to South Africa four years from now.
"I believe that we have the material," he told journalists. "We showed that out there that we can compete.
"Technically, we have grown; we have seen the individual players grow. it's about what we do; what we put on paper and how much we can implement what we put on paper.
"Again, every time we talked about plan, money comes to the fore. and I'm hoping that when something comes. the new coach will be able to implement some of what we need to do to get to the World Cup," he said.
Meanwhile, the Serbian-born Milutinovic, who is a multi-lingual Mexican resident and who has
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
