Often times we talk about the standard of refs in Ja but it seems like the EPL refs and the MLS refs make just as many bad calls.

It also seems like our esteem forumites either put themselves on the perfect side or we all use the replay to our benefit.

Remember when Prendi made the call against the US. Remember how them blast the black EPL ref? All the big England ones have also made major blunders.

Is it that hard for ref to make the right calls?

Most of our refs are far below the EPL standards.

Prendy did rub people the wrong way, but I really never find falt with most of his supposedly controversial decisions. Half the time if you follow a strict interpretation of rules he was correct.

Uriah simply put on one of the worst seasons in refereeing history when he got demoted from the EPL. It was simply awful and incompetent.

...as I said on this board once...and on RJR sports call once...the Jamaica refs are among the best in the world.

...and this I also said - all refs even the incompetent ones get it right most often.

The difference between being adjudged good or poor rests with how few the number of times the ref gets it wrong and together with that how few are the times the ref gets it wrong that the wrong call directly affects the outcome of games.

I have seen good refs do a fabulous job in a match but for one wrong call and end up being crucified by the media and fans. Some of these refs end up being never given another chance by their FA to move to the top tier. Good refs, slaughtered by one or a few errors.

Sorry, but no black code of silence from me. I disagree with that statement. Some are vey good, while some are plain awful.

The bad part is, whereas in England referee decisions are reviewed and reversed, if necessary, you'll never see that happening here. Why not?!? Are our refs too thin-skinded to take it?!
