Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is confident left-back Patrice Evra can nullify the pace of Arsenal winger Theo Walcott when the two sides meet at Old Trafford in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final first leg.
The 27-year-old French international defender was given the runaround by Tottenham Hotspur wideman Aaron Lennon during the first-half of Saturday's 5-2 victory for the Red Devils, as well as in the League Cup final at Wembley.
However, Ferguson is confident the former Monaco man can stand up to the challenge of Arsene Wenger's speedster, and help his side keep a crucial clean sheet ahead of next week's second leg at the Emirates Stadium.
“Patrice Evra is quick enough, He has played against Theo Walcott a few times and been alright with that," he said.
“Walcott is very quick, probably the quickest forward in England at the moment, so we will have to prepare in the right way.”
