  • Bora asks, "Who is that player, the No. ...?"

It is being reported that on two occasions, Bora, sitting a few rows in front of me, asked Burchell Gibson for the names of two players. Any guesses as to who these two players might be?

Well, clearly, he was one. Who was the other?

I wonder why he would have asked? To 'big-up'...or, to big-down'?

It will tek a little time for him to get to know the players. Hopefully, the JFF will give him tapes of our prior matches.

              Luton Shelton or Cambell Ryce..

What a ting wi come to when Jermaine Johnson can come on the field and mek everybody else look like dem playing in a league below at half speed.

<DIV>Maestro and Luton. And he certainly was reacting to some good things they had done at the time.</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV>Campbell-Ryce?!?! Was that a Ricardo Fuller imitation or what? They both stunk up the place. And JJ still nuh know football in my book. Sorry, not jumping on that bandwagon just yet!</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV>Bora had his camcorder out for the first half and then apparently left the stadium. He had seen enuff. Not sure he would have been any more impressed by the circus acts that ensued in the 2nd half.</DIV>

JJ may or may not know football but the fact that at the level he displayed on the field he is a lock to make Reggaeboyz midfield speaks volumes.

Yesterday he was heads above the rest of the midfield. Making use of space and passing with authority when he did... the Peruvians on their heels.

The peruvians were giving lots of space in the middle which Johnson was only too happy to exploit

The last couple matches have been painful to watch.. build ups seem haphazard and random.. maybe Bora can bring back some of that Lazaroni feel.. not clear if the players in midfield will be up to the task.

Always thought Fuller and JJ could become excellent footballers. There was the touch, the pace and the strength (Fuller's grew over time. What a man cudda fall dun wen im jus start play.)...but, they both havebeen poor...damn poor TEAM players - ignorant to the aims of game TEAM/TEAMplay.I thought when they went off the English Leagues that part of the game they would have been taught and would have grasped. Lo and behold yeeeeears later they are still - DUMB to that part of the game. Perhaps, Bora can turn JJ and Fuller if not into replica Fabregas and Drogba respectively, good imitations? Perhaps?

Ricketts also took(?) a very looooooog...exceedingly loooooong time to understand that he was a part of TEAM - should be making TEAM passes. I am hearing he has improved a lot! Did that show in this Peru match?

Maybe he was also thinking I nuh want those two in my side.

JJ will not play like that for Bora. Maybe Bora will want to use those immense talents and have him work for TEAM, but dribbling down the whole field to no aim is not how football is played. JJ is lucky he was fouled! That would have been another aimless dribble.

It doesn't surprise me that you would like how JJ played. Tappa was almost as talented as JJ in dribbling aimlessly around the field.

Perception is a hell of a ting.

I have never seen Tappa dribble aimlessly.

It is not Tappa's dribbling that sets him apart from the usual fare coming out of Jamaica. His on the ball skills make it VERY difficult to take the ball from him.. ergo possession, his accurate passing.. ergo possession.. his 360 vision of the field translates to possession, his calm and knowledge of his superiority translates to possession. The tricks and ability to destroy an opponent one and one is simply icing on the cake.

Ask Simoes or Laza or any TD for Jamaica what separates Tappa from the rest.. don't take my word for it.

Sound like the whole place was sitting next to Bora last night, the stadium get small. Heard Strathon Palmer on his radio show today saying Bora was sitting next to him.

Have not seen the game yet, but RJR said JJ seemed to forget that he has 10 other team mates on the field and he does not need to try and do all by himslef. Yet it was one iof his 'selfish' moves that led to the penalty.
