Sweden started brightly and missed a great chance to break the deadlock after just five minutes when Markus Rosenberg failed to hit the target from close-range.
Ivory Coast went in front on 37 minutes when Drogba headed Bakary Kone's cross past Rami Shaaban.
Sweden really should have drawn level right after the break when Lasse Nilsson burst through on goal, but Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry kept out his effort.
Kennedy Bakircioglu wasted two good chances late on as Ivory Coast held on to take the spoils in the first ever meeting between the two countries. </DIV>
