Where? Just regular reading.

The academy initiative started in 06. The problem with it is that it puts too many restrictions (in typical MLS fashion) on the clubs and what they can do with their youth players.

The mLs in my view have no proper academy and the leadership of the MLS hasn't even addressed it. The US soccer foundation is doing a much better job than the MLS.

In 2006 it was started and the teams have been growing their academies since.

What have these teams accomplished?

the only thing I know is the summer league where they use some of the same college student but it is not even on a decent level.

The US federation have elite teams which they started a few years ago that are miles ahead of any academy in the MLS.

How are they going to accomplish anything when it just start the other day. Obviously their team wouldn't be as good as the u17 residency program. That is why I said they are headed in the right direction instead of wasting time with those old foot college players you want them to wast time with.

One of DC United academy teams just played against Real Madrid a couple of days ago. They have also played against Chelsea and La Liga teams.

How can you claim they are headed in the right direction. The second team thing was just started too, it never got a chance to develop.

I personally don't think there is any emphasis on the youth teams from the MLS.

If they are encouraging teams to expand and put focus on their academy them that is why I can say that.

You can personally don't think all you want, if they are expanding, they are expanding. Quite simple.
If they cut that, then I will say the opposite.

Well I have to see some proof of the "right system" before I can big them up for it.
