    Maxwell promises changes at Seba

MONTEGO BAY - Minutes after Seba United extended their winless streak to five matches as the first round of the Wray and Nephew National Premier League (NPL) came to an end on Sunday, coach Geoffrey Maxwell has threatened that changes will be made to the team.

Seba United and promoted August Town played to a 1-1 draw at Jarrett Park on Sunday in a game that both team needed to win to lift themselves from the bottom of the points tables.

Seba United ended the first round in 11th place in the 12-team league with 10 points and an obviously frustrated Maxwell says as soon as next week there will be new players.

"Changes will be made as we have two new players coming in, possibly by next week," said the itinerant coach.

He did not say who the new players are.

The veteran coach said Sunday's result was "another game thrown away".

The game plan he said was to "play much tighter in defence as we have been giving away goals", but noted that his team gifted August Town with a goal. "It is just a little difficult when you are basically trying to plan things and you find that we are getting games to win and we are throwing them away."

August Town's coach Christopher Bender was satisfied with the point, which left his team one spot ahead of Seba in the standings, on goal difference, but said with some luck they could have stolen all three points.

He said they thought that given Seba's three straight losses, the Montego Bay team "would be down on confidence and the plan was to take the game to them from the start".

Despite Seba scoring first "against the run of play" Bender said the August Town team did not panic "but maintained our shape and got a goal just before half time".

Norman Foster gave Seba a dream start in the 14th minute when he powered home a shot from well outside the area that flashed past goalkeeper Devon Haughton.

Zico Herrerra pulled the Kingston team level in the 41st minute when he beat the hapless goalkeeper Neil Lynch with a firm shot from close range.

    The Under-21 encounter finished 1-1.
