I like this draw. We should be meeting Arsenal a couple of times in the coming weeks, plus we are on course to avenge our 4 -1 loss with the Livafools. Xcuse may get his prayers answered.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW: Liverpool and Chelsea square up for another European showdown as United and Arsenal avoid the big boys

Liverpool and Chelsea face yet another European showdown after being paired together in today's draw for the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Premier League giants have met in three Champions League semi-finals in the past four years and now they face another battle - this time to reach the last four.
The first leg will be played at Anfield, while the return match will not be on the 20th anniversary of Hillsborough.

Holders Manchester United, who beat Chelsea in last season's final, will meet Porto, while Arsenal are up against Villarreal. If both win, United and the Gunners will clash for a place in the final in Rome.

Battle of Britain: Chelsea's John Terry and Liverpool's Steven Gerrard

In the remaining tie, Barcelona will play Bayern Munich for the right to meet the winner of Liverpool's clash with Chelsea.
The battle of Britain again pits the old foes against each other once more.

Liverpool reached the final in 2005 at the expense of the Blues, with then Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho left seething as Luis Garcia's 'ghost' goal at Anfield, which decided the tie, was deemed to have crossed the line in front of the Kop.

The Reds again prevailed two years ago, winning a penalty shoot-out to make sure of a place in the final, which they lost to AC Milan - the team they had beaten on penalties to win the competition two years previously. They also met in the group stages three years ago.

Champions: Manchester United celebrate their triumph last year

United's match against Porto brings back memories of 2004, when Mourinho charged up the Old Trafford touchline in delight after a 90th-minute Costinha goal took the Portuguese side through at the expense of the English team.
          Reunion: Robert Pires

Arsenal's match against Villarreal is a repeat of the semi-final of 2006, which Arsenal won 1-0 on aggregate after a narrow home success in the first leg.
However, the Gunners lost the final against Barcelona.
Villarreal have a Gunners legend in their ranks, former France international winger Robert Pires.
The winners of Liverpool's match against Chelsea will face the winners of Barcelona's match against Bayern for a place in the final.
United will take on Arsenal for a place in the Rome showdown - assuming both Barclays Premier League teams win their quarter-final ties.

          Champions League quarter-final draw:
          Villarreal v Arsenal

          Manchester United v Porto
          Liverpool v Chelsea
          Barcelona v Bayern Munich
The first legs will be played on April 7/8 with the second legs on April 14/15.
          Semi-finals:
Manchester United or Porto v Villarreal or Arsenal

Big Boys? Wait ... I just checked the list of past winners and I'm seeing a Porto ... not seeing a Chelsea. What makes Chelsea a bigger team over Porto? There are 4 teams in this 1/4 final that are coming from the same groups. Porto and Arsenal from one group and Manchester United and Villareal from another. Says alot about how tough those groups were ... still awaiting the victim symdrome to kick in from a Liverpool fan.
