  • Gattuso takes swipe at United and Inter

Italian international Gennaro Gattuso has claimed that his side AC Milan would have beaten Manchester United in the Champions League had they qualified for the competition this season.
In veiled swipe at both Sir Alex Ferguson’s Red Devils and Jose Mourinho’s Internazionale, the notorious midfield general told Il Corriere dello Sport:
“If we had faced Manchester United, we would have won. The Champions League is always unpredictable, and it is vital for us to get back into it. One year in the UEFA Cup is enough for us.”
Gattuso has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury and has since seen the rosonerri dumped out of the UEFA cup by Werder Bremen and struggle to match Mourinho’s men in the Serie A title race.
