Lazie, there you go again. Midtable team? Keep in mind that Liverpool beat manure in September with a cameo from Gerrard while Torres was on the bench. Secondly, Liverpool had a better record in November and December with Torres out injured, so unfortunately, the facts don't support your position.
Incidentally, I am one of those (rare) Liverpool supporters who believe Liverpool would be a better team overall without Gerrard. That said, Reina, Mascherano, Alonso, Babel, Carragher could all make those teams. What I will give you is that manure and chelski (but not arsenal this year) are deeper in each position.
If you are right, (and I am not saying you are wrong to say that Liverpool has a weaker squad than the other top 4, certainly weaker than chelski and manure), then it just goes to show how much of a master Rafa really is - as X says, it shows how Rafa has done more with less.
