JFF faces monumental challenges, Burrell tells delegates
Monday, March 02, 2009
President of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), Captain Horace Burrell, says his administration is determined to paddle the nation's football forward despite the many challenges.
Burrell - addressing delegates at the JFF Annual General Meeting at GC Foster College in St Catherine yesterday - said the $120-million debt inherited from the previous Crenston Boxhill-led administration and the elimination from the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying tournament have burdened the federation.
"Given the $120 debt inherited from the Boxhill administration, it remains a monumental challenge in keeping this football programme in calm waters," said Burrell, who retained the reins of the JFF in November, 2007.
