Celebrations after the Reds' 1-0 win at Real Madrid on Wednesday night were tempered by Torres' ankle injury and the full extent of the problem will be discovered later today (Friday).
The Spain striker is almost certain to miss tomorrow's trip to Middlesbrough and Tuesday's home clash with Sunderland before the FA Cup provides Liverpool with a break.
Real Madrid arrive at Anfield for the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on March 10 before the potentially title-deciding clash against Manchester United four days later.
