Potters let Phillips leave for free
Stoke manager Tony Pulis has allowed forgotten winger Demar Phillips to join Norwegian top flight side Alesund on a free transfer.
Pulis: Missed out on targets
The Jamaican international joined the Potters in August 2007 but has struggled to make an impact, making just four first-team appearances.
Phillips, 25, has signed a three-year contract with his new club.
Stoke had expected further departures ahead of Monday's 5pm transfer deadline but a failure to land some of their top targets meant the likes of Andrew Davies remained at the club.
Davies is still likely to join Norwich on loan providing Stephen Kelly's switch from Birmingham is ratified, but Ibrahima Sonko will not be allowed to move to St Andrew's as Pulis missed out on the experienced centre-half.
He was rumoured to be in for Calum Davenport, who joined Sunderland instead, as well as Blackburn's defensive midfielder Aaron Mokoena, but the Welshman denied making an approach for Aston Villa's Nicky Shorey and played down talk of a second move for Cardiff playmaker Joe Ledley.
He told The Sentinel: "I think everybody knows how much I like Ledley and I think he will eventually play in the Premier League.
"But we were looking for a different type of midfielder this time, one we missed out on."
