Since terms of the deal "have not been disclosed". I tell you what he is probably getting as a "rookie" signing in the MLS: $25,000 a year, lunch meals at club training, ground. He will be sharing a one bedroom flat with another poor soul Dallas footballer as a roommate, and living off the earnings of others, more likely his parents.

That's the reality of US professional soccer. He would be better off financially playing across the border in Mexico or Costa Rica or Trinidad.

Yeah, he sure was crazy to turn down all the offers from those countries.

He should leave Dallas FC and return home; play in the NPL and patiently wait for the call from one of those BIG clubs....

                Dallas Signs Bucknor

Former Jamaican Under-17 National Team player Sean Bucknor signed with FC Dallas on Thursday, the club announced in a statement.

The following is a press release from Major League Soccer --
FRISCO, TX (Jan 30, 2009) MLS -- FC Dallas today announced that the team has signed forward Sean Bucknor. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We’re very happy to have Sean Bucknor with us,” said FC Dallas Head Coach Schellas Hyndman. “Sean is an athletic player who has great size, strength and speed. He’s very enthusiastic, you can see the hunger in his eyes, and he’s going to be a difficult player for opponents to handle.”
The 24-year-old attended Owens Community College in Findlay, Ohio, where he scored 28 goals in each his freshman and sophomore years (2006, 2007), setting the school’s all-time scoring record. He transferred to the University of Tampa in 2008 but did not play.

Bucknor with MLS outfit Dallas for pre-season

Former Cornwall College and Seba United striker, Sean Bucknor, has joined American Major League Soccer outfit, FC Dallas, for the pre-season.

BUCKNOR... former Cornwall and Seba striker
According to an article on the team's website posted earlier last week, Bucknor is one of several undrafted players who were invited to join the MLS team for the pre-season and who could join the team full time based on their performance.
If Bucknor makes the squad, he would join another former Seba United player, Jeff Cunningham, who now represents the United States.
He would also be the second member of the winning Cornwall's 2000 daCosta Cup and Ben Francis KO team to play in the MLS following Dane Richards, who is with the New York Red Bulls.
Bucknor, the 23 year-old son of Elite Panel Test umpire, Steve Bucknor, was scheduled to undergo a medical test at the team's complex on Friday and should have been involved in their intra-squad scrimmage yesterday morning.
Bucknor is a recent graduate of the University of Tampa where he was a teammate of former Glenmuir High and National U-20 player Ryan Maxwell, who was a first-round pick of the New England Revolution in the recent Super Draft.
Before going to the University of Tampa, Bucknor had two outstanding seasons at Owens Community College in Ohio where he scored a school record 56 goals and was a two-time All-American selectee.
