  • JFF's Disciplinary Committee's recent rulings

Sporting Central Goalkeeper Erron Brown on Tuesday night had the book thrown at him by the Jamaica Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee at a meeting held at the Federation’s offices.

Brown, who did show for the Disciplinary meeting of January 6, was hit with a $5,000 fine by the committee and banned for six months for Directing Foul and Abusive Language at the referee and failing to show for the original hearing. His explanation was also deemed not satisfactory.

Wayne Walker of Meadhaven United (Directing Foul and Abusive Language), who also missed the January 6 hearing, received the next harshest punishment as in addition to the $500 fine and the mandatory one match suspension, he was given an additional match for his earlier no show. His teammate Omar Edwards received a fine of $500 and was suspended for one man for his charge of Violent Conduct.

Similar fines and one match suspensions were given to Harbour View’s Lamar Hodges (Violent Conduct) and Rivoli’s Martin King (Violent Conduct) while Horace Fitzgerald Physiotherapist attached to Arnett Gardens escaped with a reprimand for his charge of Directing Insultive Language to the Referee.

While Fitzgerald faced the Committee, two Arnett Gardens players Andrew Phang and Dennis McKinley, both on charges of Violent Conduct, failed to show. Rivoli’s Devon Hunter on a similar charge of Violent Conduct was also a no show.
