    Ryan Babel of Liverpool.....

    .....will be eligible to represent Suriname in WCQ next qualification round in 2012 should Suriname pass the dual citizenship law which is currently on the table. The following other players will also be eligible.....


    Royston Drenthe (Real Madrid)
    Serginho Green (Rotterdam Feyenoord)
    Marvin Emnes (Middlesbrough FC)
    Ryan Babel (Liverpool)
    Gianni Zuiverloon (West bromwich Albion)
    Kenneth Vermeer (Goal Keeper) (Amsterdam Ajax)
    Edson Braafheid (FC Twente)


    There are more Surinamese players that I cant think of in Holland at this time but this will make for an interesting Concacaf zone next cycle. US, Mex and Central America wont have it easy like last time.

    How can Babel be eligible to play for Suriname when he is a fully fledged international player for Holland?

        Apparently he got capped by Netherlands senior team in '05 so yea your right he wont be eligible for Suriname anymore under FIFA's rules. I wouldve like to see him play for Suriname. Holland have benefitted from Suriname's best players over the last 2+ decades

          Royston Drenthe's brother plays for Suriname. I wonder if he will hold out for a place in the Netherland's team?

            Good question. I hope not. Holland is good enough as it is. Clarence Seedorf and Winston Bogarde have both set up coaching schools in Suriname and is currently giving back to the youth set up there.

            I think Patrick Kluivert will probably also get involved to some extent in the future.

              Winston Bogarde? What him gonna teach them? Play in the reserves and get paid?

                hahaha...I'll admit he raped Chelsea for 4 yrs while at Stamford Bridge but in fairness to Bogarde he wanted to play but Ranieri put him in reserves banishing him from first team football.

                4 million pounds per year for reserve team football isnt too bad is it?
