    JFF fines Portmore's Smith $10,000

    Thursday, January 08, 2009

Portmore United's Under-21 coach, Desmond Smith, was hit hardest by the Jamaica Football Federation's Disciplinary Committee which met on Tuesday night at the Federation's offices.

Smith, one of four persons to face the committee, was fined $10,000 and placed on probation for the rest of the season.

He was summoned after being ejected on three occasions for Foul and Abusive Language directed at the officials during the course of the season which began September 21, the last of which was in the end-of-round final on December 16.

Lijyasu Simms of Meadhaven United, who was also ejected from the Under-21 end-of-round final for using Foul and Abusive Language, was fined $2,000 and reprimanded.

Meadhaven United player Nackwayne Parchment was fined $1,000 for two counts of violent conduct and reprimanded, while the Portmore United duo of Andre Dyce and Cornelious Henry were each fined $500 and reprimanded for Violent Conduct.

Sporting Central's Erron Brown (Offensive and Insulting Language) and Wayne Walker of Meadhaven (Abusive Language) failed to show.

He is a disgrace and should be banned from coaching, obviously he is ignorant of football (well his playing should tell you that) as every single game he goes to he take son the referees and cuss them.

Every year he gets fined and suspended from coaching and he is still allowed on the bench ironically in the Under 21 league where coaches are expected to be more teachers than anything else.
Solidarity is not a matter of well wishing, but is sharing the very same fate whether in victory or in death.
