'Hang them, hang them, hang them!' - Seaga says it's time for tough action
    published: Monday | November 24, 2008

    Seaga
FORMER PRIME Minister Edward Seaga yesterday dramatically weighed in on the capital punishment debate, arguing that the perpetrators of grisly child murders must be hanged. Speaking before the kick-off of the Digicel Premier League first-round final between Harbour View and Tivoli Gardens at the National Stadium, Seaga was blunt in his recommendation of the death penalty.

Yes, the above is in the right forum, since Seaga and Burrell chose to place it there.

I thought it was most inappropriate for both gentlemen to use to occasion of the End of Round final to make a case for the death penalty. Had some footballers or ball boys or some JFF officials been murdered recently, once could probably understand. But to hold up the game by at least 5 minutes, players getting cold and fans getting impatient, I don't think it was the time and place for that. A minute's silence is one thing, but we could have done without the long talk.

I may not agree with the "Hang them high"...but the gun crimes is...Yes "is"...a serious matter! ...and I, for one, have no qualm with Seaga and the Captain letting their stance known.

...much prefer policing and making it harder for the potential gun criminals to carry out the shootings and murders. DISARM & BUD policy!

Those murderers caught give stiff sentences. Those who are not of different disposition after years in jail...remain in jail!

Why give murderers stiff sentences? You already want our security forces to try and execute those possessing weapons on spot, then why not just blast away convicted murderers in like fashion?

          This is why things will
never get better in JA. Mo two wrong don't make a right. This is also a reflection of the indiscipline in ja's society.: Those in charge break the rules and bend it to their will.

There is no justification for posting this on the football site,; there is another forum in place for this. When we start to learn to adhere to rules and respect them then JA will progress.

You would not understand potential threat as different from imminent threat and or immediate threat?

The guy walking around with an illegal gun...remember GUNS would be BANNED...poses immediate and or imminent threat...the murderer in the lock-up could be viewed potential threat!

The former BUD category person...if caught without already becoming BUD (lucky to brought in alive...then is no long BUD...caught already, Mosiah!

...the latter person...already in jail...can serve a 'stiff' sentence and just may be rehabilitated!
