One thing for certain, the vibes was much better in the bleachers than the grandstand, and you could not beat the $1,000JA price of admission.
I saw several TV clips of the pompous Captain Burrell apparently exonerating himself for the failure of the team to advance to the Hex. As one commentator mentioned, as soon as Burrell came into office, he wanted to purge the JFF of everything Boxhill, and in doing so brought in his little buddy (Simoes) who had nothing to offer Jamaican football. You have to wonder the type of vetting process Burrell used in interviewing Simoes for the position, and if there had been any discussion of not using Jamaica's best talent on the football field. We know no national coach in Italy or England could survive any game if the best talent was ignored for unproven & inexperienced talent.
Interest in Jamaican football from the bandwaggon fans will evaporate until the next round of world cup qualifiers in 2012.
It does not appear I will be taking a flight on Air Jamaica any time soon. Spirit Airlines offers $320 round trip tickets to Jamaica from Boston & LaGuardia etc, and we all know Air Ja can not offer similar fares. Air Ja should become a low cost airline, and offer no food, no drinks, and charge for checked luggage and assigned seats.
