  • Digicel Caribbean Championship Squad

Reggae Boyz training squad named for Digicel Caribbean Championship

Twenty-six year-old Keith Kelly was given a chance to revive his international career when he was named in a 29-man Jamaica squad to prepare for the Digicel Caribbean Championship finals to be hosted in Jamaica from December 1-15. The players will be in camp initially from Monday November 24 to Friday November 28 at noon.

Midfielder Kelly, a youngster who made his senior team debut at 17 and was signed by French club Paris Saint-Germain at the same age before losing his way, was last invited to a national squad in August. Also earning recalls are Sean Fraser, who last represented the country a year ago as well as goalkeeper Dwayne Kerr, forward Steven Morrissey and utility player O’Brain Woodbine. Woodbine last represented Jamaica against Honduras in San Pedo Sula in September.

Young forward Keammar Daley of Meadhaven earns a recall to the squad after missing the week-long camp in the Cayman Islands due to illness. Andre Campbell, a left-sided player who had his first call up for the Cayman Islands camp retains his place.

Also included in the squad are a number of overseas-based players including veteran utility player Tyrone Marshall, Shavar Thomas, Dane Richards and Omar Cummings of the MLS. They are joined by Rodolph Austin, Luton Shelton and Oneil Thompson who all play in Norway while the duo of Jason Morrison and Rafe Wolfe who ply their trade in Hungary are included as well. Demar Stewart and Wolry Wolfe complete the list of overseas-based players invited.

Where is Hue? How can Kelly be called and not Hue. This is now past a joke.

You need to either renew or take a short-term option on that old contract. Jamaica's football demands no less. Think of the greater good Mosiah.

                  Haha! Yuh funny!

I don't know what Johnny's and Tappa's philosophy is on our football going forward. And maybe they both aren't lovers of Hue's style, level of fitness, drive, effort, passing skills, etc. They certainly have seen enuff of him to have made up their minds. I can live with that. Strange how Keith Kelly never made last night's team though.

I more have a problem with some of the players they have called. They shall remain nameless right now, but I'm certainly eager to attend the training sessions to see how things go.
