Fighting for their place - Hull launch investigation into 3am casino scrap that's set to cost King and Windass £100,000

Hull City have launched an investigation into the alleged fight between Tigers' strikers Marlon King and Dean Windass.
The dust-up, which reportedly took place at around 3am in a Scarborough casino earlier this week, is set to cost the pair almost £100,000 in fines.
The warring pair are reported to have fallen out during a night out, when King is alleged to have butted Windass following a drinking session.

The Sun newspaper alleges that the fight broke out after tensions over team selection boiled over. On-loan Wigan Athletic star King, 28, has replaced veteran Windass, 39, as the team’s main striker.
Manager Phil Brown is understood to be furious with the two players for bringing the club's reputation into disrepute.
Now he is set to fine them both a maximum two weeks' wages and warn them over their future conduct.
King, who earns £30,000-a-week and Windass, who is on £14,000-a-week, had to be pulled apart by stunned colleagues as witnesses looked on in horror.

Brown is a stickler for discipline and the incident is an embarrassment he can do without as he looks to end his side's three match losing streak against Manchester City on Sunday
A source inside the club said: 'An incident took place but it has been blown out of all proportion.'

It is claimed that King, on-loan at the club from Wigan, butted Windass and left him with a bloody nose.
A witness told The Sun: 'Windass appeared to say something to King that had him raging like a bull. King was shouting, ‘You b*****d. Wait until I tell my boy what you said’.
'Windass shouted back, ‘It was a joke. You know f*** all about anything’.
'King then threw himself at Windass, headbutting him in the face. There was blood and drinks were sent flying.
'It was embarrassing. They were like snarling animals.'
The source said team-mates pulled the pair apart and the players were allowed to stay after promising there would be no more trouble.

An official spokesman for Hull City said: 'It was an unfortunate incident. The club decline to comment any further.'
Richard Koval-Meth, gaming manager of the casino in the North Yorkshire seaside resort, said: 'There was a fracas, but it only lasted a minute or two.'

Windass fired Hull into the top-flight by scoring the winner in last year's play-off final but has failed to nail down a regular place in this season's starting line-up.

King has been a regular since joining the club on loan and the paper claims this has led to tension between the pair.
    Windass on King...

This is what Windass had to say about King, when the City legend was asked to introduce his fellow striker at the start of the season: 'He walks like he is carrying two carpets under his arms and a great lad in the dressing room. Always getting fined for wearing a cap, using his phone, flip-flops... but it's water off a duck's back. Never argues about his punishment. Just hands the cash over.'
    Never argues, eh?

Dirty Drog: Didier is 'sorry' for hurling coin into crowd as Chelsea pay the penalty

Didier Drogba was forced to apologise for throwing a coin at Burnley fans after making an obscene gesture as Chelsea were bundled out of the Carling Cup at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea striker flipped a finger at supporters after scoring his first club goal for more than six months. Missiles were thrown, one of which Drogba flung back.

Trouble ahead? Didier Drogba gestures to Burnley fans after scoring...and then throws an object into the crowd.
He said: 'I tried to celebrate the goal and I some things were thrown at me. The big mistake I made was to throw it back so if someone was hurt I want to apologise. It was an incident in the heat of the moment and I regret it.'

While Chelsea went on to lose 5-4 on penalties, Harry Redknapp's Tottenham beat Liverpool 4-2, their fifth win in six games since he took charge.

The drama at Stamford Bridge is likely to prompt an FA charge. Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari said: 'I didn't see the incident but the referee gave Drogba a yellow card. I saw police in the corner, but no more.'
Vintage Clarets: Burnley players mob goalkeeper Brian Jensen after their penalty shoot-out victory.

Burnley equalised when Ade Akinbiyi struck in the 69th minute for Owen Coyle's combative team, who are fifth in the Championship.

The score was still 1-1 after extra time and the shoot-out level at 4-4 after five spot-kicks each. Then, after Michael Duff put Burnley ahead 5-4, John Mikel Obi's penalty was saved by Brian Jensen to give the club one of the most famous upsets in their 101-year history.

Coyle said: 'In terms of scalps they don't come any better than Chelsea because they are one of the elite clubs in Europe. We could have felt sorry for ourselves when Drogba put them in front with a goal that shows why he is a worldclass striker, but we didn't hide.'

Scolari added: 'I kept some players out because they have played so many games, but I'm not angry. The players did their best.'

Two goals each for Roman Pavlyuchenko and Fraizer Campbell left Spurs confident they can retain the trophy they won last season under Juande Ramos.

Defender Michael Dawson said: 'We don't become bad players overnight and Harry's brought that confidence back. Last year we had a great day at Wembley and we wanted to carry that on. Of course we can do it.'
