The Digicel Premier League (DPL) will extend its boundaries today as for the first time ever, a live televised game will be streamed free of cost on the internet.
ENGLISH... key player in Waterhouse's bid to stay in touchViewers can log on to www.hvfc.net, the website of the Harbour View Football Club, and this was made possible by Anngel.com in association with League Broadcast Sponsors TVJ of the RJR Communication Group.
In the meantime, although there are three rounds to go, the battle for the two spots in the first DPL End-of-Round Final heats up with some intriguing clashes today.
With only six points separating the top six teams, third-placed Portmore United (13) will travel to fourth-placed Tivoli Gardens (12) and second-placed Boys' Town host fifth-placed Waterhouse (12).
Leaders Harbour View (17) take on Sporting Central (9); sixth-placed Village (11) play bottom team Meadhaven (2) while seventh and eighth-placed teams Arnett Gardens (10) and St George's (10) do battle.
The Reno/Rivoli encounter has been postponed because of the death of Rivoli player, Enrico Beech, last week.
Harbour View, with a two-point lead in the standing, could extend that advantage with a victory over Sporting Central Academy and set themselves in a very good position.
With the teams directly behind them playing each other, the 'Stars of the East' could seize the opportunity to widen the gap.
Boys' Town could also solidify their second spot with a win but could find Waterhouse giving nothing away as they also seek maximum points.
In four outings last season, both teams had one win apiece while drawing 1-1 twice, with Boys' Town winning the last match-up, 4-2.
However, it is uncertain how the Boys' Town team will perform after the death of their junior player, Theophalus Samuels, last Thursday.
Samuels, who starred for Bridgeport in the 2006 Manning Cup final, scoring two goals in a 3-1 win over Excelsior, was one of four persons who died in an alleged shoot-out with the police.
The red-hot Denzil Watson, with five goals, will lead the charge for the Red Brigade. He should be ably supported by Michael Campbell, Peter Keyes, Renae Lloyd, Garfield Gillespie, Wayne Ellis and Fabian Watkins.
Waterhouse, who battled to an exciting 3-3 draw with Portmore last Sunday, will be depending on the bustling Jermaine Anderson with six goals; Kevin Lamey, Kenardo Forbes and Irvino English to stay in touch with the leaders.
Meanwhile, champions Portmore United, in third spot, battle fourth-placed Tivoli Gardens, only a point behind, in another intriguing encounter.
