  • On Tappa being Technical Director:

It's no secret that for years now I am a huge fan of Tappa Whitmore.
I see Tappa for what he is ( a genius at football). Tappa has also demonstrated to the world (time and time again) that he is a genius at the game.

Unfortunately JA is not ready for the likes of Tappa. Our island is still trapped in time and most of our poplulace is still viewed as slaves instead of assets. This is the main reason why Tappa will not be called Technical director of Ja's football (regardless of his brilliance). Ja was in a tough spot and he literally pulled the team out of it and now he must hand it over to someone who is far below him in terms of knowledge, skill and all that comes with football.

The above is why many Jakans flee to the States because once you show ability and the inclination to succeed you will be given the chance (the rest is up to you). If it was the USA Tappa would take JA to SA.
Here in Ja you have to have a certain name and attend a particular high school (pay attention: HIGH SCHOOL) for you to be considered for any position of leadership.

Tappa humbly take what they give and at the same time seek out coaching Jobs in the Mexican league or even Europe. You can start out as an assistant. It will not get better for you in Ja, trust me.

Great points, can't tek away his achievements, but all he has done is win 4 home games. Let us see how he handles himself in a few away games. Having said that the players seem very relax playing for him.

Tappa is also a quick learner as JJ was left on the bench for Dane Richards. JJ still cyaan hold up 'im head a mek a pass.

The same coaching qualities can be said for Carl Brown.
Hey .. look at the bright side .... at least you're not a Liverpool fan! - Lazie 2/24/10 Paul Marin -19 is one thing, 20 is a whole other matter. It gets even worse if they win the UCL. *groan*. 05/18/2011.MU fans naah cough, but all a unuh a vomit?-Lazie 1/11/2015

You are of the opinion that Barnes
is ahead of Tappa in knowledge and skill in football. care to explain why? Thanks.

Fine, my point why Tappa can't be TD.

Not sure I agree wit you here but I will say this. Tappa has coached well in the games he's been in charge. The difference between him and Simoes is that he respects our opponents but he actually studies the way they play and their formations but right now its still a bit premature for him to become a TD. What the JFF should do is send him to Europe to get a UEFA coaching license and probably work out a deal with a top premiership club where he can be an assistant to get some more experience of how coaches coach at the highest level.

In the meantime where should they send Barnes?
                        Thanks.

Like Simoes' appointment, I also wasnt impressed by the hiring of John Barnes but he's here for a year. I agree wit you that Barnes isnt a better coach but I actually think he would make a good scout for us.

Jawgie me naw badda go back inna dat deh debate, but all you have to do is to look back at our last WCQ when CB was in charge to get your answer. We won the crucial qualifying games to get us to the point where he was unceremoniously dumped and replaced by Lazaroni. We went downhill after that.
