  • Overview of Mexico game from GT (Willi's T&F site)

    GT
Stadium was far from packed but more performances

like this from Reggae Boyz will soon pack them in. It was a pretty good performance by JA, quite physical but not yet displaying superior technical skills.

Fuller's goal was great, but was that what he had in mind. Unfortunately there are not enough camera positions at a game like this to give you different perspectives of that goal.

Campbell-Rice was wicked. He reminds me of dem old time ballers who love to pop. He
    was dangerous too.

Luton Shelton is far from the finished product. His lack of instant control is his biggest drawback. There were times when the ball came to him and he would have been in on goal if he could control the ball and put it in the right place to attack. Instead he has to chase after his first attempt to control the ball and by the time he has it he has someone on him and the chance is lost.

    Marshall and Goodison stood firm.

    Austin looked good.

    Gardner was fair.

Ricketts is a good shot stopper but has a lousy kicking game.

All in all a big improvement from sicko's friend days (Simoes).

Tappa seemed to have provided a spark and a much better environment for the team.
    YesI!

With all the fandangles they have placed around the stadium, I'm surprised they didn't have cameras behind the goals.

    sigh

And unnuh believe that Shelton had the audacity to criticize how Portmore played on Sunday? Bout how the quality of the league poor and him cant even control a ball. Neville jus knock him back same time by asking if him satisfied wid how him play gainst Mexico. Him start stamma like dawg.

Shelton actually did that?! He would have a hard time making Harbour View's team right now!

Suh despite his performance against Mexico ... that means his assessment of the league is wrong? Sound like Neville Bell losing it.

                Shelton was right!

I saw what Shelton said....He basically said that the quality of the game was poor and said that it may be attributed to the pitch...Nothing more nothing less. Personally I agree with him 100%...The game was horrible!
At a young age winning is not the most important thing... the important thing is to develop creative and skilled players with good confidence.

If he (Neville) is going to be "knocking back" Shelton by questioning his performance it simply doesn't make any sense. Ramon Christian once missed the easiest of chances against the USA back in the day, does that disqualify him from giving an objective view about football in Jamaica?
If thats how Neville a reason now a days someone need fi talk to him.

It didnt come across that way at all Lazie! I dunno what other people were watching but Shelton was asked a question about the game and he retorted in an honest and direct way. He was then asked about his performance where he also gave his opinions on his play and singled out Marquez as having a good angle on the game and the difficulties in getting the better of the mexican captain.

Lazie, yuh miss the point bad !! Matter of fact yuh miss the whole arguement.

There is no realtion between the 2 questions. It s natural that as a sports commentator Neville is going to ask about his performance in the game.
