Top Honduran striker, David Suazo, who terrorized both Jamaica and Canada in the last two World Cup qualifiers, might not line up against the Reggae Boyz in the return game at the National Stadium on October 15. The Benfica player will not be able to play for weeks as he has suffered an injury to his right thigh, his club announced today in a press release.

The player who was injured against Napoli last Tuesday in the Uefa Cup, was examined on Sunday and the result “confirmed that he tore a muscle in his right thigh,” said Benfica.
“He will not be able to play with his team in the next few weeks,” added his club.

Suazo, 28, who was contracted to Inter Milan in 2007, is on a temporary loan to Benfica this season.
Meanwhile, Mexican coach Sven-Goran Ericksson has called up what can best be described as a third-string team to play Chile in an International friendly on September 24. Most of Mexico’s top players are not available as they either play in Europe, while many of the top local-based players are involved in the CONCACAF Champions Cup
