  • Hamstring injury downs Nuggsy

Sunderland central defender Nyron Nosworthy faces more than a month out of action after suffering a torn hamstring in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.

The 27-year-old former Gillingham stopper lasted just 25 minutes of the derby clash at the Stadium of Light, before being replaced by Danny Collins.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane told The Gazette: "It's a bad one, which is particularly bad news for us.

"When he went off I thought it was fairly serious. He's a tough lad and it takes a lot for him to come off.

"It's a grade two hamstring tear and that means he'll be out for between four and six weeks.

"The only silver lining is that we have a two-week break now with no games, but it's not much of a silver lining because, if it does take six weeks, he's going to miss some very important games for us."

"The contribution of forumites and others who visit shouldn’t be discounted, and offending people shouldn’t be the first thing on our minds. Most of us are educated and can do better." Mi bredrin Sass Jan. 29,2011
