Sky Sports News understands John Barnes is a candidate for the vacant manager's job with Jamaica.
The former Liverpool legend is thought to be on the shortlist to succeed Rene Simoes.
Simoes was sacked last week after losing both of their most recent World Cup qualifiers to Mexico and Honduras.
The Jamaica Football Federation are now looking for a new man to guide them for the rest of their World Cup qualifying campaign.
Barnes, who was born in Kingston, is thought to be one of Jamaica's top targets to take charge of the national team.
The former England international had a short unsuccessful spell in management when he took charge of Celtic in 1999 but was sacked after just eight months in charge.
Barnes is keen to get back into management and he is due to hold talks with Jamaica in the next few days about the managerial position.
