The 3-0 loss to Mexico is now but a speck in the rear view mirror of the Reggae Boyz train as it rolls slowing but surely towards the encounter against Honduras at the Olympic Stadium in San Pedro Sula on Wednesday.
They took the loss hard and were down for a while but certainly not out.
“So far they will be okay, we are confident they will recover for Wednesday,” Simoes said. “They were down, not because of the loss to Mexico, but because of their performance.
“We talked about it individually with the players, exactly what happened, and they are faring much better now.”
The team has trained twice since they arrived, a light workout on Sunday evening and a more workmanlike effort was put in last night behind closed doors.
Both Captain Ricardo Gamer and Ian ‘Pepe’ Goodison, who are suffering from leg injuries, sat out the session but they are expected to be ready to go when the first whistle sounds on Wednesday evening at 8:30pm Jamaica time, according to Dr Charlie Roberts.
Midfielder Rudolph Austin is not 100 percent either, but all he needs are rest and hydration to be ready to face the ball Wednesday.
