    Bullard called into England squad


    Bullard could make his debut on Saturday while Owen stays at home


    Jimmy Bullard has been included in the England squad for the first time for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers away to Andorra and Croatia.
    The Fulham midfielder gets his chance with Steven Gerrard, Owen Hargreaves and Michael Carrick all out injured.
    Michael Owen and Jonathan Woodgate have been left out and Portsmouth's Peter Crouch misses out on a place again.
    Robert Green and Joleon Lescott return and David Beckham and Theo Walcott are also in Fabio Capello's 23-man party.

    Can this squad start England's qualifying campaign with six points?

    Walcott is one of four strikers named by the Italian, along with Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe.
    But Owen was omitted despite Capello watching him from the stands at the Emirates during Newcastle's defeat by Arsenal on Saturday. Glen Johnson is included as cover for Wes Brown at right-back with Micah Richards, who was originally chosen for the under-21 side, another injury victim. England play Andorra in Barcelona on Saturday evening and then travel to Croatia for their second qualifier on Wednesday, 10 September.

      calling Bullard is almost the same as calling Evon Taylor. With the name and high paying midfielder inna England and him calling a man worth about 3 million pound.

        If is the same as calling Taylor then I guess he will turn out to be a huge surprise and an excellent selection.

          The English midfield have NO element of surprise in it. Good midfielders but all a them play the same way. None a them is not a game changer.

          Bullard brings an element of surprise to the mix. Hopefully he will work out.

            Well, Simoes did the same thing to when he called up Goodison....who wasnt even playing NPL football when he wore the national shirt for the first time.

              Jimmy Bullard is a quality player,he deserve his chance.It's good to see a player outside the elite clubs in the England squad.
