Vigourously opposed to any such thing!

I oppose such a strategy with every fibre of my being! What we need is a plan to develop our local players. What we need is a good youth development program. What we need is to stop talking about a JFF academy and build it! What we need is plan to raise the level of our first academies, our high schools. What we need is a plan to raise funding for our semi-pro league and its clubs.

We sure as hell don't need a specific recruiting strategy for UB-40. We need a policy that governs how we recruit persons who have shown early desire to represent the black, green and gold.

We also need Simoes fi stay fi 8 years. It make no sense we have the systems in place and the coaches at the top don't understand how to put a team togather.

It seems a mystery how we can't beat St.Vincent with local players and Simoes can make them look like world class player against big bad Canada.

A good defence is a system based on players practicing together, developing understanding of each other and the coach's philosophy. That's only achieved over a protracted time. It's not necessarily about the best individual players.

Will this guy be available for extended periods to help build that system? Or will he fly in 2 days before games with no prior familiarity with Jamaican football?

Simoes should play chess with these players that sit on the fense. Call them up annouce it and then see what they do.

                Like Burton!
Man and man a act like he will be the only UB40 to play for Jamaica.
When we have children abroad, we tell them they are Jamaicans too.I would not be surprised if Nyron would prefer to play for Yard, in any event, it would be a non issue if he was invited from the get go(dereliction comes to mind).
Nyron inclusion is desired because he IS good enough(UNIQUE qualities), and as such would be another viable option for the team.

Fine! I am happy that you tell your children that they are Jamaican too! What does that have to do with anything?

Jamaica needs to have a policy for the recruitment of such children. This beg and beseech act has got to stop!

The abroad reference is to give credence to the UB40 players, they are Jamaicans, and this is not a case of his Granny making Nyron....
He expressed desire to play for Jamaica..and even though unjustly ignored appears to still have that desire. Who is doing the begging?

I've had a long look at hi and he's noy that special. Truth is hes limited, esprcially by his pedestrian pace. He's no better than what we already have.

While I rate Nosworthy, there is no one player we can't do without.

                                You miss the point.
It's not about being good enough. He probably is.. along with dozens more in England who are eligible but have no background in Jamaican football or may not even have visited the country. Even if the player was invited earlier in the year... how much time would he have spent in the country? How many competitive games would he have played?... minimal.. and not enough to be up to speed and trusted.
Would his club support him playing in Jamaica outside sanctioned dates? This is a much more complicated issue than you seem to realize.

It's about building a defensive system which happens best by practicing especially in match conditions over many months.
Simoes does not have the luxury of time to develop that with new players unfamiliar with Jamaican conditions, Concacaf conditions, Jamaican players or his defensive and systems and philosophy... This is true especially because it involves the defensive department... attacking players..yes... safer to experiment there.

Notice that all of the so called UB40s selected now either grew up in Jamaica or have been playing for us for years (Burton).
They can fly in a few days before qualifiers and fit in readily because of this background.
Chances are Nosworthy and others like him either can't or it's unwise to experiment with such options when we are actively in qualifiers.
