  • Barcelona must learn to win without Ronaldinho

Barcelona must learn to win without Ronaldinho, admitted sports director Txiki Begiristain last night.

"Ronaldinho has had difficult moments throughout the last three years. Sometimes he has been better and other times worse," said Begiristain.

"In the first season we signed him we said that it would be good not to depend on a single player. We must think like this. The rest of the team can cover the poor form of Ronaldinho."

On the defeats to Real Madrid and Chelsea, Begiristain added: "Look, we've lost at two difficult grounds. That's all. It's history. The squad continues to believe they're the best in Europe."
"Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)

RE: Barcelona must learn to win without Ronaldinho

They were in an almost impossible situation last week.

How can you expect a team to be ready for both Chelsea and Madrid within the course of a few days? It can't be done. If Barcelona was ever going to struggle it was going to be now. I am sure the coach looking ahead to the schedule probably realized that there was a good chance for rough patch during this stretch run.

I agree with the post though they cannot expect to rely on one player. The tough thing with a player like Ronaldinho is that if he is not good on the attacking end he is virtually useless. As well he has played a ridiculous amount of football over the last two years. I bet he is burnt out. He needs some time on the beach to recharge. - T.K.
