Though slow off the mark, the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Campus, is becoming fired up about physical education and training.
Embracing the Football Academy will fit into the UWI's plan of becoming leaders not only inside the classroom, but also "outside of the classroom".
Now that the institution seems set to "walk the talk", it should consider offering at least 10 scholarships every four years from the sport of football, athletics and basketball.
