  • X quietly confident of Liverpools season

Why? The ambition is there !

    Liverpool target Spain star Villa

Villa missed out on the Euro 2008 final through injury

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez admits David Villa is on his list of potential striker recruits after Peter Crouch's impending departure to Portsmouth.
Villa, 26, was one of the stars of Euro 2008, scoring four times as Spain won their first major trophy in 44 years.
"We have Torres, Voronin, Kuyt, Babel and Steven Gerrard, who can play as a second striker," Benitez said. "But we will try to bring in another option.
"Villa we know all about. He is on our list. But maybe it will be difficult."
Fernando Torres scored 33 goals in a spectacular first season at Anfield, but the other strikers only managed a combined total of 17 goals to undermine any hopes of launching a sustained Premier League title challenge.
    606: DEBATE

I would choose between Robbie Keane or Villa, but Keane if anyone - proven goalscorer in the Prem

    NutsaboutPool

Villa scored 18 league goals for Valencia last season and was the top scorer at Euro 2008, notably scoring a hat-trick against Russia in a Group D match. And he also proved he could form an effective partnership with Torres, despite pre- tournament concerns that Spanish coach Luis Aragones would be forced to leave one out in order to select a balanced team.

No more news of Hicks & Gillet, both proclaiming to be quietly bcaking Rafa, with the Xodous of Crouch it shows ambition on Liverpools part,If believed by some Crouch is quality not to be let go , then it must be said Rafa is no fool and better quality must be on its way in.

For Liverpool to be linked with Keane and Silva speaks volumes of the traget for next sesaon, THE PREM.

Crouch had to be traded, he offered nothing coming off the bench and as a starter he was hot and cold, predictable some wouldargue lacking balance in his arsenal, he basically reached his zenith with Liverpool at 26 -27.

Torres the complete opposite opposite.Whom best to compliment Torres?A striker or midfield with balance.

Like I said X is quitely comfortable, we will win something BIG next season, the 9 or 11 point gap will be reduced by August and bear fruit by next may..

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Rafas only questionable decision on my part is to sell Xabi to acquire funds for Barry ?

To me he doesnt add more of an attacking option , more defensive in my view, more versatile in the middle than Xabi, but would I sell Xabi, I dont see how you sell such a passer of the ball , while Barry will run you ragged , Xabi will pass you silly.

Xabi stays for me , to sell for 16 (Xabi)and buy another for 18(Barry) , tells me its not worth the hassle but if thats the difference to bring home the prem, then Rafas knows best.

One or two more pieces to the puzzle and thats it,no more Xcuses.
