Scolari - No Ronaldo advice
Luiz Felipe Scolari insists he has never advised Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid.
A recent report had quoted Scolari as saying the Premier League champions would not be able to prevent the winger from joining the Spanish giants.
Scolari subsequently denied giving the interview and, speaking at his first press conference as Chelsea manager, the Brazilian is adamant he has not provided Ronaldo with any career advice.
"I never advised Cristiano Ronaldo to change his club," said Scolari. "I want to make that clear.
Fantastic player
United are determined to fend off Real's interest in Ronaldo, who is likely to miss the start of the new season due to an ankle injury.
But, even if the Portugal international does join Real, Scolari does not expect the challenge to reclaim the title from United to be any easier.
He added: "If Ronaldo stays or does not stay in Manchester is not my business.
"It's not only Ronaldo in Manchester. Ronaldo is one very fantastic player, but he does not play alone.
"If he goes or does not go, the league for Chelsea is still very, very difficult."
