The article:
There are big difference between the football in Norway and Jamaica.
This is said by club-director Clyde Jureidini from Harbour View. He has
in the last week got an insight of the Norwegian football culture through
his visit with Notodden FK. He is convinced that the clubs has a lot to
learn from each other.
Was impressed.
HVFC and NFK agreed to keep the contact after Fabian Taylor was the first
player-export to Norway from the Jamaican capital. Now the clubs hope to
learn from each other and has started to work on an alliance where the
intention in general will be on to swapping competence in different
ways. The last week the club-director has been visiting Notodden and he
has to admit that he was impressed. Facilities, infrastructure and
finances are quit impressing. These thing are more professional in
Norway says Jureidini.
Can learn from us.
He says that there are no doubt that his own club can learn
from the Norwegian football culture. At the same time he is very clear in
that Notodden and Norway can learn about the Jamaican
football arrangement. A football match in Jamaica is a big experience and event. It is much more music and show connected to a match. Norwegian clubs can adopt some elements here, said the club-director, who garaunteed
returns to Jamaica filled with knowledge and experience.
Harbour View beats Notodden FK?
He underlined that Notodden FK has much more support from the State.
Not least when it comes to will from the community and economic support
from the sponsors. Most of it looks more structured in Norwegian
football. And of that we can learn of the competence, says Jureidini who
is in no doubt that HVFC would beat NFK. Yeah, we would beat them with clear margin, says a smiling Jamaican club-director who admits he always backs his club to beat any club anywehere.
He looks forward to another visit to jamaica by high ranking Notodden FK Officials at the end of the season later this year to finalise plans between both clubs as ongoing discussions continue in earnest.
The possibility already exist that other HVFC Players will be invited to trials in Norway soon.
