Philip Gyau's son (Phillip also coaches with Bethesda where my son is)....Joseph..is with the US U-17's. He is 16 in September. He has some very big clubs after him in Europe...if he can hold out a little longer...it would be best to by pass the scholars...or at the very least demand a big sign on bonus...which he can do because of his excellent abililty. If he goes into the 16-18's now with a big club..without a signing bonus..they will own the rights and there would be a chance they would see less money from any transactions.

It is difficult to explain but Bill knows what I am talking about.

There was this forum called the gotsoccer forum which focused primarily on youth soccer in the DC area. It was suppose to be a discussion group about the sport but it quickly degenerated into bathroom wall type reading where grown adults would say some of the most horrible things about kids. Pretty much nothing was off limits. After about 10 years the moderator of the forum decided to shut it down because it continued to persist.

Most people would not mention kids by name on the forum because they knew that if they did it would always elicit some parent bashing the child and their family. Normally the only acceptable time to mention the name of a child is if they had reached national exposure and became identifiable to the casual footie fan. You know you try to protect the kid as much as you can. - T.K

I never went on that other forum...nor did I ever hear about such things that went on...I didnt realize that went on, how sad...I am friends with Philip though...and his son is the real deal...I have no problem "mentioning" his name on here nor do I think Philip would care to be honest. But...if it will make everyone feel better..then I wont do that again...cheers

I don't have a problem with mentioning children's names. Parents do it all the while, and Philip's son seems big enuff. Trust me, we moderators will put a quick end to any abuse that may take place as it relates to minors.

Bricktop is an exception. We take turns beating down that fellow!

Isn't he headed to Bayern Munich?

They want him bad...but I am not at liberty to go much further speaking about that...for me though...I think now that the US has two good quality U-17 coaches...he is better off here for another year..for signing bonus purposes potentially. The scholars in Europe are fantastic. However, They aren't playing other national teams on a consistent basis..and different styles of national teams at that. The US is unique also that they play the MLS teams during their preseason..and college teams in the spring as well. We shall see what the future holds for him.
