  • CONCACAF WCQ semifinal round commences.........

    Jamaica will now join Honduras and 10 more Stage 2 winners in the Semifinal Round of the of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualification that will be composed of three groups of four teams with matches running from 20 August – 19 November 2008.

    The top two from each of the three groups will advance to the six-team CONCACAF Final Round scheduled for 11 February - 14 October 2009.

    Jamaica secure place in CONCACAF World Cup Qualification Semifinal Round



    6/19/2008 - Jamaica secured their place in the Semifinal Round of the 2010 CONCACAF World Cup Qualification after defeating the Bahamas 6:0 on Wednesday and claiming the series 13:0 on aggregate.



    Luton Shelton scored three times, Deon Burton had two goals, while Tyrone Marshall added another for Jamaica in their Stage 2 second-leg encounter triumph at Greenfield’s Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium. The result extends the Reggae Boyz’ unbeaten streak in CONCACAF World Cup Qualification to six matches.

    The road for CONCACAF teams to the FIFA World Cup ™ South Africa 2010 continues with the remaining second-leg match-ups for the CONCACAF World Cup Qualification Stage 2 from 20-22 June. COMPLETE SCHEDULE

    The top three teams from the CONCACAF Final Round in 2009 will automatically qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. CONCACAF's fourth place finisher will play off with CONMEBOL's fifth-place team in a home-and-away series for one of the last berths to the FIFA event.
