  • Under 20

When is the under 20 games coming up? Hope to see some improvement in the players and hope Orgill is included to see what he has learned in Canada.

I read where the under 20 girls team beat the senior by 5-0, way to go and I hope they deliver in Mexico.

      thanks, good to know.

I hope the youth teams get the attention they need because we will need them for the next qualifiers cause Grandad Goodison, and Marshall etc can't play Foreman and Holyfield.

Big things should be in store for him because he has terrorized every defense he has played against including professional European outfits and he was so impressive that he was called to the big man squad.

            'Caps call up forward Orgill

Whitecaps Residency striker Dever Orgill has been called up to Teitur Thordarson's first-team squad.
            May 24, 2008

Vancouver Whitecaps FC announce that forward Dever Orgill has been called up to the Whitecaps senior men’s team from Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency of the USL Premier Development League (PDL).

The six-foot, 150-pound native of Port Antonio, Jamaica, joined the Residency program last September and has performed well in major international youth tournaments. Most notably, last March, Orgill scored goals against the academy sides of Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt and England’s Leicester City at the Dallas Cup XXIX.

Orgill has started both PDL games for the Whitecaps this season and has one goal to his credit.

Prior to joining the Whitecaps, the striker was a member of Jamaican club Progressive FC, in the Portland Football Association Division One. Orgill has also represented Titchfield High in the previous two Inter-Secondary Schools Association DaCosta Cup competitions.

Internationally, Orgill was the captain of the 2007 Jamaican side at the CONCACAF U-17 World Cup qualifiers and scored the game-tying goal against USA, as the Reggae Boyz went on to defeat the Stars & Stripes 3-2. The striker also scored five goals in six games at the 2006 Caribbean Cup. These included goals against Canada, Cuba and Mexico.

In 2005, Orgill earned the Golden Boot award in the Caribbean Football Union’s Under-15 tournament held in Trinidad & Tobago after scoring 12 times in six games. In total, Orgill has scored 22 goals in his 22 appearances with the national team.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency is a full-time program dedicated to developing North America’s top youth players in Vancouver. Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency allows elite youth players from U-17 to U-19 to achieve professional opportunities with the Whitecaps men’s team and world-class European clubs using the European club model of identification, development and placement.

The Whitecaps are set to battle the Portland Timbers tonight at PGE Park (7:00 p.m. - webcast: USLlive.com). The Whitecaps next home game at Swangard Stadium is on Saturday, June 7, when the women take on Seattle Sounders at 4:00 p.m. and men host the Timbers at 7:00 p.m. June 7 is a Wendy's Family Night - four tickets and two Wendy's Kids' Meals for only $48.
