  • Argentina 3, Mexico 0 (Half)

Mexico's defense looks absolutely horrible. Argentina is also dominating the midfield.

Oswaldo Sanchez, Mexico's goalie is being hung out to dry.

The first goal came when a cross bounced over the pile to an open Argentine player. The third also came on a dummy from a cross. The first Argentine let the ball go, and his teammate behind him was wide open, and he buried a rocket.

Mexico's offense started strong, winning several early corner kicks. The best chance came on a shot from the left side, which beat Argentina's goalie, who came out to challenge the shot. The ball dribbled across the open goal mouth, just wide of the far post.

Mexico's offense started to show signs of life toward the end of the half. The entire Mexican bench was warming up for the final ten minutes of the half.

Sven is in the press box, taking notes, and he looks angry.

Also angry are the hordes of Mexican fans on hand in San Diego. Qual Comm Stadium holds about 60,000 people, and looks quite full, most of them Mexicans. They sound absolutely stunned and were booing at halftime.
