  • Match views from a Ghanaian

My colleague was in Jamaica with his wife and two girls for a two-week vacation which ended this morning. He and his wife's brother (who lives somewhere in/near Mona Heights) went to the game yesterday. He shared the following views on the game:

    1. The Jamaican team played better than when he last saw them against Ghana in England
    2. The game was boring as there was a lack of creativity on both sides.
    3. The short guy who scored jamaica's first goal looks very good.
    4. The forward who scored the penalty for Jamaica is good enough to even play for Ghana.
    5. The other forward reminds him of most forwards from Ghana: very skillful but doesn't know when to shoot.
    6. The "Rasta Guy" in the back played very good.
    7. Andy Williams (he knows him by name and also watch his RSL games) was the only Jamaican midfielder making good passes.
    8. The starting right back seemed bored for most of the game.
    9. The short guy who replaced him in the second half was the only Jamaican player with any creativity.
    10. The brown guy who scored the 4th goal looks very good but he only came on late in the second half.
    11. The midfield was packed but the players seemed hesitant in their decisions.
    12. The other team have a player who was a handful for the Jamaican players. ????

    NB:
I asked him about the central midfielder (Evan Taylor) but he said only those he mentioned above made any impression on him.

He and his family spent 3 days in "Ocha" (Ochi) but did not like it there. They prefered "Nagral" (Negril) and the villages in that area. They would like to visit "Nagral" again. He also loves Portland and "Claratan" (Clarendon). He likes Kingston and felt at ease there because it reminded him of Accra.

He does not know why we make so much fuss about crime in Jamaica because in the two weeks he was there "everything was criss."
"The contribution of forumites and others who visit shouldn’t be discounted, and offending people shouldn’t be the first thing on our minds. Most of us are educated and can do better." Mi bredrin Sass Jan. 29,2011

No.12 amazed me the most because this guy is about

4 of St.Vincent starting players that played Jamaica.

Unnu think Jamaica good because them a play them best now while other countries a scout and playing tic toc toe until qualifying start.

There is nuff work left for Simoes to do but when and where he is going to do it when there is not enought money.

We have to start beating these small countries by some big margins to get some quality competition in the future.

I say get the best squad and stop joking around with 2 and 3 weeks wonders.

On #4) Yes Ghana has a great team with lots of talent, but it really amazes how man can big up them team after one match with Ja, when Ja played for nothing, was on a losing streak with the worst admin problems ever and Ghana was getting ready with a side stocked and ready for the world cup.

so our forward who scored the enalty may be good enough to play for ghana, what arrogance!! both of our forwards.
here are the Ghanaian forwards from 2006 wc, i will take King Fuller and Shelton over every one of these except possibly but not absolutely Amoah.

on another note--Just noticed this last guy's name is the same name as our Tacky from Ballards Valley, St Mary 1760 revolt.
