MEADHAVEN UNITED'S prolific forward, Keammar Daley, has again caught the eye of technical director René Simoes.

Daley was recently recalled to the national squad and will soon join the team in training for the senior team's upcoming CONCACAF qualification matches.

    'Dream come true'
Daley, who has been playing at Meadhaven United since he was nine, has always dreamed of playing for the national team.
"It is a dream come true. Although this is the third time around, I feel even more positive," Daley said.

Daley was among 24 local invitees, who were in training with the senior Reggae Boyz, for the Ash Wednesday international friendly against Costa Rica at the National Stadium.

At the 2007 Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards ceremony, Daley was rewarded for scoring four vital goals which helped steer the Under-21 Reggae Boyz to a silver-medal finish at the Pan American Games in Brazil last year.

    DISCIPLINED PLAYER
Head coach of Meadhaven United, Alrick Clarke, described Daley as a disciplined player with the right technical abilities to make the national team.

"He is definitely a good player. We are looking forward to have him play on overseas contracts as well," Clarke said.

    Advance in NPL
Meanwhile, Daley is confident Meadhaven United will advance to the National Premier League following their 2-1 win over Wadadah on Sunday. "We are well prepared and since winning the Super League, we are confident we will advance. We will just have to make good use of our goalscoring opportunities," he said.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Had a very ordinary game against Wadadah (Wadadah is the team in green and gold, not blue as reported by the Newsletter). He might be playing injured and was closely marked and regularly fouled by the opposition.

Still believe he is quality but would like to see him in action a bit more.
