You know the "thought process" that you are using is going down a nonsense path? Right?

Just consider this the coach selects the his first choice players for a match and they all have to travel far distances e.g. all from England. Do you think all could (FIFA rules mandated) or should (friendly) necessarily play in the match?

Then if the players who have to travel far distances e.g. must play/should play...should the coach select his starting X1 and have on the bench 2nd or 3rd rate players? ...i.e. he should forget about putting his 'first choice' reserve players' on the bench but instead put 'near players' on the bench?

What would be the implications of such a 'policy'?
