Stewart's Auto Sales Limited joins the Reggae Boyz "Road to South Africa" World Cup campaign with a three-year sponsorship deal worth approximately $25m and including six 2008 motor vehicles.
Two brand new BMW X3 and four Suzuki Sx4 deluxe sedans, which technical director Rene Simoes and his assistants will use, were presented to the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).
Brazilian Simoes was given the key to his BMW X3 and Alfredo Montesso, Luciano Gama, Chico Santos and Theodore Whitmore were presented with their Suzuki Sx4 deluxe sedans.
The other BMW X3, plus a driver at Stewart's Auto Sales Limited's expense, will be available for use by visiting coaches for their teams' participation in World Cup and International Friendlies and any visiting FIFA officials.
The Sx4 deluxe sedans will be very visible on the road with the large words "Suzuki" printed on both sides of the vehicle and including the words "Reggae Boyz", the Jamaican flag and a small football.
Stewart Auto Sales, which was a part of the successful 1998 'Road To France' campaign, will fully subsidise the servicing of all these vehicles and will be responsible for the full cost of comprehensive insurance.
Diana Stewart, managing director of Stewart's Auto Sales, said it was the excellent relationship that was built during the 1998 campaign that has encouraged them to get involved again.
"That said, it is with great pride that Stewart's Auto Sales announces the following level of Silver Sponsorship support of the Road To South Africa campaign. Our package is designed to provide important mobility to those who will help guide our Reggae Boyz along the road to victory.
"Few of us would deny that the 'Road To France' campaign saw unparalleled levels of unity in our nation when the vast majority of Jamaicans rallied behind our Reggae Boyz as they journeyed to the 1998 World Cup," Stewart said.
She added: "Stewart's Auto Sales is therefore lending our full support to the 'Road to South Africa' programme. and once again it brings us great satisfaction to be a part of the preparation for what we hope will be another momentous step in our nation's history."
Simoes said the last time he was here he was driving a Vitara Suzuki and he was thankful for the company's support.
"I remembered the Stewarts because I had a Vitara Suzuki in the first stint. I want to say a special thanks. I am so excited and I am honoured. I don't know if I deserve it, but I accept," said Simoes.
Meanwhile, JFF president Captain Horace Burrell guaranteed Stewart's Auto Sales that they will reap the benefits of their sponsorship.
Said Burrell: "Jamaica will tell you thanks in a special way. I expect your sales to soar and so we look forward to driving around in these Suzukis.
"Again, welcome on board and we look forward to taking the ride together," added Burrell.
