  • Latest JFF Press Release

Following the quarterly Board of Directors meeting of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) held on Tuesday, 6 May, 2008, kindly be advised of the under-mentioned:

    Details of the Kappa deal:

The JFF recently agreed a contract with equipment manufacturer Kappa to outfit all nine (9) national teams (Senior, U23, U20, U17 and U15 Men’s and Senior, U20, U17 and U15 Women’s). The following represents the terms for a contract period July 1, 2008 to July 30, 2010:

    Signing Fee: USD 120,000
Annual equipment supply value: USD 400,000 (additional USD 150,000 if the Reggae
Boyz qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South
    Africa)
    2010 WC Bonus:
For qualifying for the 2010 WC: USD 350,000
For each game of the knock stage at the WC: USD 100,000

    2009 Gold Cup:
For qualifying for the 2009 Gold Cup: USD 100,000
For advancing to the semi finals of the Gold Cup: USD 50,000
For advancing to the finals of the Gold Cup: USD 100,000

    Royalty:
The JFF will receive royalty fees of 6% net turnover exceeding the USD 840,000.00 annual threshold.

    Forensic Audit:
The JFF received on Thursday, 1st May, 2008, another claim served by the law firm FDB International in England for GBP 500 for unspecified activity. This follows on claim from NVA Management limited (England) now before the courts. The JFF also received a claim from a donor on February 22, 2008 in the mount of GBP 5,000 and which the JFF has still not been able to identify in its accounts

Consequently, and in light of the current debt to the England Football Association in the amount of GBP 153,000 for match tickets received by the JFF for the England vs Jamaica game and the proceeds not turned over to England FA, the JFF Board felt it prudent to order a forensic investigation of the England tour. The fact also that the information gleaned from the available documentation has so far proved insufficient on the afore-mentioned unresolved issues and that these issues are arriving almost 2 years following the said tour, without notice, the JFF is most uncomfortable with the lack of disclosure in this regard, specifically at the level of the Board.

The JFF will engage one of the major international auditing firms to conduct the forensic audit of the England tour in order to bring closure in this regard.

    National Premier League:

The JFF Board gave approval for the formation of a company in partnership with the national premier league clubs to manage the commercial development of the league. The day to day administrative management will continue to reside with the JFF. Discussions with the clubs will continue in the setting up of the afore-mentioned company, to be called the “Premier League Company Limited (PLCL). The final ratification of this company shall reside with the JFF delegates at a Congress, as previously mandated at the JFF Congress held on 4th November, 2007 in Hanover.

The 2008/2009 national premier league season is scheduled to commence on 24 August 2008.

    Craig Butler:

The JFF heard the appeal of Mr. Craig Butler against his expulsion from football by KSAFA. Mr. Butler took the KSAFA to court during a process of mediation over a decision that body made in relation to the affiliation of his club, Phoenix All Stars.

KSAFA expelled Mr. Butler on this action as it contravenes the regulations of the JFF and FIFA. No member of the football family is permitted to take the JFF or any of its affiliate before a court of law. The consequence of this action is immediate expulsion from the sport.

The JFF upheld the decision of the KSAFA and implored Mr. Butler to seek council with that body in the rebuilding of his relationship with that body. Mr. Butler cannot organize or participate in any organized football activity anywhere in Jamaica until the ban is lifted.

Shouldn't you have a quarterly meeting promptly at the end of the quarter? No royalties will be seen from this KAPPA deal.

What happened with KSAFA and Craig Butler ?
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

The Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KASAFA) is facing a situation that could turn ugly in an area not exactly known for its prowess in the sport.

Two entities in Stony Hill appear to have been given separate assurances by the association which could lead to residents not being able to watch their team compete in the Syd Bartlett League.

Craig Butler, who is manager of the Stony Hill Phoenix Club whose players competed at the under 15 and 17, is now being told that he had no right to enter the team in the KASAFA run competitions.

Livingstone Caine says he is the president of the Stony Hill Football Club the rightful KASAFA affiliate.

However Butler says he has a letter from KASAFA President Ambassador Stewart Stephenson, granting his club the proper status, and a berth in the Syd Bartlett League which begins in less than three weeks time.

However Livingston Caine claims he was told by the same Stewart Stephenson that he would have KASAFA 's blessing to represent the town.

Though Stephenson refused to comment KASAFA Vice President Carvel Stewart tried to clarify the issue saying that initially Butler and his Phoenix Club had satisfied KASAFA requirements, but added that it was now felt the two feuding factions must work together.

Very solid development in terms of the kit deal. The terms are better than I would have expected.

Progress being make. All we need now is to rebuild the national senior football team back to a higher level.

              Respect
