• HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can any one tell me what the policy is with national player call up. seems that things have changed since I was playing, what makes sense to me is when your nation needs you theyshould have priority over club level teams.

When did that change, what is FIFA policy now? what is JFF policy? We have a real talent on deck, the only way we can compete is by utilizing these oversees players when we need them. How could a team have priority over a national need and that be accepted? DO YOU ALL ACCEPT THAT? I am having a real problem with that. love and respect.

    RE: HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jamboy reminds me of a certain poster

FIFA allows a National team to call on a player 5 times per season and a club is obliged to let them go - FIFA has even introduced an international calender to deal with this

in the changing face of football with the G14 et al club have increasingly become more important than National associations

Clubs have contracts with players - National association dont have

Clubs pay excessively high salaries to players - countries pay a stipend

Players often get injured on International duty and then the club lose their services for long periods sometimes - check what Wenger had to say about this

I am in agreement with this , I want my National Association to have this headache than not to have it

          RE: HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a 2-way street! Nothing drives love of football more than success at international matches.

Nothing drives PR and add value to football more than FIFA championships.

Many are the players taken by the football rich countries from the football poor countries...after exposure of the players in international matches!

International exposure drives players prices in the club marketplace.

Footbal...the football pipeline depends on the 'babes' to national team pipeline remaining healthy. The clubs need that pipeline to survive and grow. The national associations need their players to keep the pipeline healthy...as the successful players provide inspirationthat keeps the fire burning in the 'newset of players' that perpetually burst on the scene...and, keep the current stars fire burning brightly for longer periods...

Clubs need the National Associations! National Associations need the clubs! The players need both!

The only FIFA championship that pulls any power is the World Cup - it happens every 4 years and the qualifying takes awhile after the last championship to begin

Its the Clubs that pulls the power Karl - why is FIFA afraid of the G14?

You mean country pays stipends right? While clubs pays exhorbitants salaries...I noticed in arecent article that Germany had raised their fees to players who are called up for national duties.

Players who have not retired from international play are still required to make them sleves available for their national teams.

A T&T player, not sure which one right now but could be Shaka Hislop was recently banned from playing for his club for 10 days after refusing a national call up. He will not be paid for that period as well.

I thought Roger Milla's last World Cup was in 1994 in the USA WC and at the time he was 42 years old. He went into retirement after that. He was the star of the Cameroon side in the previous WC in Italy however.
