  • Kemo is back!

Christopher Nicholas, who once promised to lead Jamaica's senior strike force after starring for some national youth teams some years ago, made a surprise entry last Sunday for Tivoli Gardens against Harbour View at the Compound. The last time I saw such a massive figure on a football field it was Jerry D nicing up the crowd at the National Stadium!

Whatever could have wrecked the prospects of Kemo and Keith (Kelly), whose partnership in the youth ranks was a thing to behold. At least Keith is almost where he needs to be, as he has buckled down and worked hard to get back into pretty good shape. Now Kemo, one of the few "thinking" players on our local scene, is back. One wonders how serious he's gonna take it or is he doing it for the money?

Needless to say, Kemo looked like he had a fat suit on and fumbled his way around as a late subsitute in that match. There was one moment when he gave us a reminder of the cheeky passes that was commonplace in his game, but...sigh

He and Kelly are class players. We just have some concerns about their form.

Complete waste of talent. The man was never serious about his football.

I feel the same way. Even before he vanished from the scene he was putting on weight. But, like other intelligent footballers, those that think the game, like Maestro, Lenny Hyde Jnr, Nicholas McCreath, Kelly and Roland Dean, it's always nice seeing them make others look daft.

An even bigger waste than him was Ali Rose. The man won Harbour View the championship with a belly that had to be at least 7 months.

Didn't know Ali in his fit years, but I did see him rolling around about 3 or 4 years ago. Him still a play?

Last I remember he was playing football in the Bronx or somewhere in the states. Haven't heard much about him recently.

I don't think their was any defender in the region who could stop Ali Rose in his fit years. It was ridiculous how much touch and skill he had. That is one of the few ballers who got the highest ratings from both the folks in the West and Kingston.

Just goes to show you what a joke ting football is in Jamaica. Why is he even on the team?
