Team-mates line up to praise 'fantastic' Theo Walcott

    Theo Walcott

You have to feel for Theo Walcott. It seems whenever the Arsenal teenager produces a moment of magic, events conspire to overshadow his achievements.

The 19-year-old's second-half brace at Birmingham in February was undermined by a stoppage-time equaliser from the Blues and, on Tuesday night, Walcott's scintillating assist at Liverpool was drowned out by the late goals which eliminated Arsenal from the Champions League.
Nonetheless, Walcott's contribution was further evidence of his huge potential and his impact certainly left a lasting impression on his Arsenal team-mates.

"For a few months now Theo has been on fire," said Emmanuel Adebayor, the man who profited from Walcott's 60-yard run past four Liverpool players.

"He is very quick and is playing some good football. Playing up front alongside him is brilliant."

Kolo Toure also praised the in-form Arsenal teenager. "Theo's run was fantastic, with a great pass at the end," he said.

"He is a good player and is improving every time. I think he is going to be one of the best players in England."
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
