  • Fabian Taylor on 1-year loan to Norwegian team

Congrats to him and Harbour View! I think he is going to Oneil Thompson's team.

Very good move. Hopefully this move will lead to better things for him. If Taylor is in a professional setup on a regular basis, I think we will see an increase in his sharpness(assuming he plays regularly) and he could force his way into the JA squad.

      Norway bound!
Fabian Taylor signs one-year loan deal with Notodden FC

      Saturday, March 29, 2008

Fabian Taylor (right), shakes hands with Notodden's general manager Per Arne Hansen after signing the one-year loan deal at the Pegasus Hotel on Thursday.

Fabian Taylor, the Harbour View captain and national striker, left the island yesterday for Norway, after signing a one-year loan agreement with Norwegian club Notodden FC on Thursday.

The deal, which was stalled a few weeks ago because of some financial issues, was finally completed at the Pegasus Hotel after Notodden's general manager Per Arne Hansen flew into the island to secure Taylor's signature.

The Norwegian registration has to be completed by next Monday in Norway to allow the 28-year-old to play.

Taylor will join fellow Jamaican Oniel 'Bigga' Thompson at the first division club.

Taylor came back to Harbour View after spending 2004 on loan with the New York MetroStars in the US Major League.

He has been in and out of the national team, playing 39 games and scoring seven goals since debuting with the team in 1999.

Hansen arrived in the island on Monday and attended several local football games as a guest of Harbour View.

He initially attended Harbour View's winning double-header at the Compound on Tuesday against Port Royal FC (5-0) in the KSAFA Under-20 competition, then the COK Champions Cup game against Arnett Gardens FC (2-1).

On Wednesday he witnessed the Reggae Boyz in action in their 2-2 draw with Trinidad and Tobago at the National Stadium.

The Norwegian season runs from April to November.
