I personally think if the CL we are outclassed regarding midfield, the similarities between our acclaimed midfielders may negate any real changes a substitution normally gives, ergo Fletcher is a must on the bench.
There were no debutants in that game.
Also, who would've figured Ronaldo would not have been rested?
