Arsenal will play Liverpool in an all English Champions League quarter-final, while Manchester United and Chelsea were kept apart in the remaining draw for the last eight.
The Gunners will now lock horns with the Anfield club on three occasions in the opening days of April as the two legs of their European showdown will sandwich a Premier League meeting between the sides at the Emirates Stadium on April 5.
However, Arsenal have an excellent knockout record against Liverpool in recent seasons, having dumped the Reds out of both the Carling and FA Cups last term.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have been drawn against familiar opposition in the shape of AS Roma.
United were paired with the Italian side in Group F of this year's competition and won 1-0 at Old trafford, before a weakened line-up secured a 1-1 draw in Italy in a dead rubber final match of the group.
However, Roma will feel they have a point to prove having being blown away by an 8-3 aggregate scoreline at the same stage by the rampant Red Devils last year.
Elsewhere, Chelsea will travel to Turkey to take on first-time quarter-finalists Fenerbahce in the first leg of a last eight encounter.
The Blues overcame a sticky start to top Group B before dispensing with Greek side Olympiacos in the first knockout round.
In the final quarter-final, German side Schalke will take on 2006 winners Barcelona.
Meanwhile, the draw for the semi-finals was also held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
The result sees the winners of the Arsenal versus Liverpool tie facing either Fenerbahce or Chelsea.
That means a potential repeat of last year's semi-final meeting of Liverpool and Chelsea which the Merseyside club won 4-1 on penalties after extra-time.
Schalke or Barcelona will take on either AS Roma or Manchester United.
The final will be played at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on May 21.
Quarter-final draw (April 1-9):
Arsenal v Liverpool
AS Roma v Manchester United
Schalke v Barcelona
Fenerbahce v Chelsea
Semi-final draw (April 22-30):
Arsenal or Liverpool v Fenerbahce or Chelsea
Schalke or Barcelona v AS Roma or Manchester United.
